Aresbank is authorised by the Bank of Spain to operate in Spain as a fully-fledged credit institution. As such, the bank is subject to all laws and regulations issued by the Spanish regulatory bodies and is also subject to the regulations issued by the European Central Bank.
The Bank’s Financial Regulation team is part of the Global Risk Control Department (CRO) and ensures compliance with the laws, rules and regulations in force. The team in the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, Data Protection and Customer Service Department has a wide range of roles and responsibilities within the Financial Institution. These tasks include preventing conflicts of interest and ensuring compliance with the regulations on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing and on possible tax evasion. The Bank uses automated systems with continuous updates of watch lists for the identification of persons and entities to prevent money laundering and to stop suspicious activities.
